Amy turned and began to search, with ever decreasing coolness, for another way out. The whole time she scanned the room for movement. A couple of times she seemed to catch just a hint of a shadow at the edge of her vision, but then it would fade immediately as soon as she directed her full gaze at it.

She found herself out in the pool area again, and was just about to ponder climbing out one of the skylights overhead when the attack came. She was struck from behind by her assailant and she bounced across the tiles and into the pool. Amy struggled to the surface to get her breath.
